Shriyog Institute is currently a leader in providing yoga classes and yoga education in Pune. Join us on 23rd June to unlock the mysteries, myths and facts on Yoga.

We will be covering a diverse range of topics including talks and interactive sessions to help you understand the theory and practice of yoga that is best suitable in today's times for all age groups.

Shriyog Institute follows the Iyengar system of learning asana and pranayama with a blend of an Ayurvedic lifestyle and music to bring health and wholeness. Asanas are broken down and sessions are liberally sprinkled with mini anatomy lessons to kindle interest in exploring this science of the self. Classes are conducted for beginners and advanced students as well as children, senior citizens and women.  

The event will be spearheaded by Shriyog Founder Mrs Rajeshree Tupe

Rajeshree Tupe has been a student of Guruji BKS Iyengar, Dr Geeta Iyengar and Shri Prashant Iyengar for over 2 decades and brings a unique blend of three brilliant teachers. She uses the holistic approach to health of body, mind and soul in an accessible way for her students through the intelligent practice of asana and pranayama. A certified senior Iyengar yoga teacher, she also holds a Diploma in Ayurveda & Lifestyle Management.

7.30am to 8.30am

Hall 2 - Gentle yoga

Yoga is for all and can be a really soothing , rejuvenating and healing exprience if practiced correctly. In this session you will learn and practice simple asanas that can be done by everyone irrespective of age or gender

Hall 1 - Yoga and weight loss - busting the myths around weight loss and yog asanas+ nutrition for weight loss. (Theory + Practice)

Can yoga make me loose weight? Weight loss means reduction of bone mineral deposits, muscle, tendon, and other connective tissue. unexplained weight or loosing weight quickly may be sign of a disorder too. while maintaining a healthy weight is good for the physical,physiological and psychological body, it is important to loose weight in the correct way. incorporating certain lifestyle changes, intelligent execises that do not damage the body in the long run, yoga with correct guidance and nutrition are the essentials to loosing weight correctly. learn more about yoga & weight loss - myths and facts in our Yoga day event on 23rd June 2019

9am - 10.15am

Hall 2 - Kids class - Get a friend along for free

Yoga for kids is a beautiful way to help your young ones discover their potentials without having to compete. The session will be filled with asanas and their co-relation will be explained to animals and nature. This session will be full of fun and laughter where getting the young ones interested in Yoga will be a natural step taken by themselves. What's more? Let your young ones get a friend along for this session in the price of one ticket.

Hall 1 - Partner yoga - Connect with a friend or a family member. (can attend if you are alone)

Discover the immense benefits of stretching with a partner, friend, family or simply anyone. This session will introduce you to stretches that you can do with a partner and also help your partner discover and deepen their practice. This will be a beautiful way to connect to one another and learn what it takes to help someone while getting helped at the same time. Truly Karmic !!

10.30am to 11.30 am

Hall 1 - Talk on esoteric physiology - Pancha Kosas and Shat Chakras

What is Meditation? - Meditation is a point of effortless and uninterrupted concentration either on an object or without any object that results in a calm, serene and thoughtless state of mind. It is clearly mentioned in many vedic and modern yogic texts that meditation cannot be taught by any teacher or Guru and it happens only when the mind is ready with intense training from asanas, pranayama and other body cleansing techniques. so then, do you meditate? or does meditation happen to you? learn more about meditaion myths and facts in our Yoga day event on Chakras on 23rd June 2019

12pm to 1pm

Hall 1 - Pranayama - Theory and practice

"Prana" means the essential life force that keeps all life forms moving and alive. "Ayama" me extending or stretching. Pranayama therefore means extending the life force. there are various schools of thought that have their theories and practices on pranayama. the important questions to ask before starting any pranayama practice would be - do i have any ailments? do i practice my asanas regularly? do i have a qualified teacher to teach me correctly? if you are in doubt with any of these questions, then you may be at a serious health risk. Pranayama can work wonders if done correctly and exactly the opposite if not. It is clearly mentioned in all yogic texts that the body and nerves need good preparation before even attempting pranayama. this preparation comes only from a strong and regular asana practice and body cleansing techniques like "Shatkriyas". Any new practice initially has a feel good factor but it is over months or even years that the good or bad effects of pranayama practice come to light. so be wise and do the right thing !! learn more about Pranayama myths and facts in our Yoga day event on Pranayama on 23rd June
