What is Playback Theatre?
Magical, creative, thought-provoking, reflective, unscripted...just like life itself. Playback Theatre is a format of improvisational, interactive theatre where the actors use their awareness, spontaneity, creativity, and skill to present an engaging and dramatised retelling of the participant member's story, on-the-spot! Through this format, a safe space is created for the sharing of personal stories and moments that help to see a particular subject from multiple perspectives.

More about the workshop:
This is a Level 1, 30-hours workshop to learn the basic skills, values and rituals of Playback Theatre. Besides covering the core skills of Improv and Interactive theatre, the sessions will dive deeper into the various forms within Playback Theatre including Fluid Sculptures, Pairs, Corridors and the different roles within a Playback ensemble; that of a Conductor, Musician and Actor.

This workshop is based on the syllabus by Centre for Playback Theatre, USA. A certificate for completion of Level 1 will be provided.
