White Desert Marathon - The Salt Trails (2nd Edition)

Breathe in a Bit of Gujarat... The White Desert Marathon gets a distinct recognition of being the Most western Tip Marathon of India. The One of-a kind of trail Marathon across the Globe which happens on the Salt Desert. The Route is set through the crackles and flakes and chunks of salt. A runner will have a lifetime experience running on this terrain.

GREAT RANN OF KUTCH The Great Rann(Desert) of Kutch is one of the most isolated deserts in the world. The land is witnessed with extreme weather and Temperatures. Also known as the White Desert, Rann of Kutch is covered area of 2897-square-mile salt marsh located in the Thar Desert. It is spread over the Two Countries Boundaries between Kutch-India and south Pakistan. In migratory season, the Rann’s vast silvery sands dotted with hundreds of striking pink flamingos make for a vision hard to forget. The Rann is home to several wildlife sanctuaries and forest reserves, and also plays host to the legendary desert festival Rann Utsav. If luck favours one might sight at the Rann- The unexplained dancing-lights phenomenon called Chir Batti that shows up on a clear night quite randomly. Be prepared to embrace an event of a lifetime in Rann of Kutch, one of the most isolated deserts in the world, sought after for its scenic white-carpet landscape.

Runner can plan to do the sight seeing and many adventure activity also. There are Luxurious, Semi-Luxurious and Budget Stay available.  

(A one night stay option with basic stay-meals near the Flag off point nearest to white desert, on the night earlier to race is offered separately in the booking section (it will be Quad/Tuple i.e 4-5 people in one Tent). Pick up- Drop from BHUJ railway station is complimentary for Runners staying in Budget Tent but at Specific time of 8.30 am on 30th January in morning and Drop at 6pm on 31st January ONLY. Pls Note: Runners staying & booking Tent-City through other sources and registering for Marathon will have pay extra Non-subsidized charge of Rs.5000/- on the specified Race fees. Runners can opt to stay else also under the sight seeing and other combos.) The little money raised from this event is used to support the local village boys and their livelihood. Hence we insist to book Tent City Packages through us and Not through any other resources.
