The Vagamon Ultrail is an ultra trail marathon organized by Soles of Cochin, in the hills of Vagamon, the only one of its kind in Kerala. Vagamon Ultrail offers three categories in the 2020 edition - Fun Run, 60 Kilometers & 90 Kilometers.
Fun Run
- The Fun Run is a new category in the 2020 edition – primarily for those who wants to run their first trail race. It is an out and back route on our course taking runners through the tea estates, slush & single path trails. Believe us, it will be tough and will definitely get you addicted to trail running. The fun will start and finish at St. Thomas LP School, Pullikkanam at 09:00 AM and last 33 Kilometers. There is no stage cut-off and final cut-off. Everyone who finishes will be awarded medal and timing.
60K - The 60K run starts at Orchidarium and is a point to point course taking runners through the most beautiful locales in Vagamon while still posing enough challenges for a regular marathon runner. The course takes you through different terrains and will finish at St. Thomas LP School Pullikanam. The course will have a cumulative elevation gain of 2100m.
90K - The 90K run will start at St. Thomas LP School Pullikanam and take the reverse of the 60K until Orchidarium, and then take a different route on return to the finish line. 90K will finish at where it started and will have an elevation gain of 3300m.
After assessing last edition's finisher to start ratio, we have decided to modify the Qualification criteria for Vagamon Ultrail 2020. The emphasis has always been on proper training and preparedness for a good trail experience and not for making the race entry difficult for participants.

The Qualification criteria will now be:
Fun Run - No Qualification criteria
60K - Registrants must have completed a Full Marathon in 05:15Hrs or any Ultra Marathon within the cut-off time prescribed by the organizers of the race. For 12hr runs like stadium runs, one must have atleast run 60Kms.
90K - Completion of an Ultra marathon (atleast 50KMs) with a minimum elevation gain of 1000m within the cut-off specified by the organiser.
NB:
- Runners must submit the hyperlink to the timing certificate or a shareable result link or link to their ITRA profile during registration.
- Races run after 01-Jul-2018 will only be considered as a qualifying race for Vagamon Ultrail 2020.
- No Strava or gpx data will be accepted. If you have any questions about the qualification criteria, please email us and get your questions answered before registering.
- Anyone who registers without submitting or fulfilling the criteria will have their registration cancelled and entry fees forfeited.
- Registrations will tentatively open on 01-Aug-2019.
- After registration, If you cannot participate in the race for some reason, you should notify us by December 15th 2019 and get your registration cancelled. Your registration cannot be swapped with anyone else or carried over to future editions. We will issue a refund of ₹1000/- for all such voluntary cancellations till 15th December. If you don't participate in the race without cancelling the registration, you will only be allowed to enter after 2 editions of Vagamon Ultrail (i.e. 2023).
