Trek to Vikatgad (Peb Fort)

Vikatgad is a small fort near the ranges of Matheran on northeast side of Panvel at a distance of 3-4 km on west side of Neral. It is also known as #Peb and has an elevation of 2100 ft. #Nakhind, #Chanderi, #Mahasmal and #Prabalgad all can be seen from the Vikatgad fort.

#Vikatgad has some dramatically sloping sides that are covered in grass during the monsoon season. Charming little trails lead up these slopes, into the misty summit, offering views of the rainclouds coming in from all sides. From the top, you can see far into the distance on a clear day. There are some fairly big streams and pools on your way to the top, so be prepared to get your shoes wet!

Brief itinerary:
06:10 – Board Karjat fast local starting from CST@06:10 (Dadar@06:24 - Thane@06:49 - Kalyan@07:13)
08:00 – Reach Neral Station. This is the final meeting point.
08:15 - Have breakfast
08:30 - After introduction and briefing, start trekking towards Vikatgad(Peb)
12:00 - Reach Vikatgad fort. Explore. Photo session. Have lunch
14:00 - Leave for Matheran
16:00 - Reach Matheran, proceed towards Dasturi Naka
17.00 - Take a cab till Neral station
18.00 - Reach Neral station, have some snacks and take next available train
20:00 - Reach Mumbai
Trek concludes with happy memories :)

- Any personal expenses such as soft drinks etc.

Things to carry:
1. Identity proof
2. Water Bottle (2 Litres Compulsory)
3. Electral Powder / Energy bars / Dry Snacks (dry fruits. biscuits, plum cakes etc).
4. Good grip quality trekking shoes
5. Personal Medication (if any)
6. Toiletries (Napkin, facewash, tissue paper etc.)
7. Rain wear (Raincoat / Ponchos)
8. Extra Pair of Clothes (as per schedule)
9. Slippers (optional – at the end of trek so that your feet can relax).
10. Proper Backpack to carry all these things

Cancellation and Refund:
● If done prior to 3 days of outing 50% will be refunded
● After that no refund will be provided

Important Note:
- Do not wear precious Jewelry while trekking, as we won’t be responsible for any losses for the same.
- Consuming liquor or any kind of Alcoholic substance is prohibited. Carrying any kind of substance that’s illegal is not allowed. Smoking is strictly not allowed. Anybody found smoking or consuming alcoholic drinks will be expelled from the event without refund.
- Mountains are a place of rich natural beauty. Hence, it is our duty to keep them free from garbage. So please do not litter. One is expected to deposit all wrappers/empty water bottles etc. in his/her own bag.
