The Test Tribe 26th Porto Meetup - From No-Code Testing to Assertive Communication
Great testing is more than just writing scripts. It's about the tools you choose, the techniques you apply, and the way you communicate your findings.
The 26th Porto Meetup brings together QA engineers, developers, and testing enthusiasts for an evening of two powerful, complementary talks - one diving into the future of no-code automated UI testing, and the other exploring a skill every QA professional needs but rarely talks about: communication. Whether you're looking to sharpen your automation toolkit or level up how you work within a team, this evening has something for you.`
Join us at Mindera for an evening of real-world insights, practical takeaways, and great conversation with Porto's growing QA and engineering community.

Session 1: From Click to Chic - No-Code Automated UI Testing with QF-Test
Speaker: Pascal Bihler, Senior Lead Developer at QFS GmbH & mgm technology partners
Creating and maintaining automated tests for application user interfaces usually involves a significant amount of scripting - even when AI generates the initial code, the tests still live in a JavaScript or Python ecosystem, and managing the entire test project requires considerable programming expertise.
As an alternative to script-based approaches like Playwright or Cypress, this session introduces QF-Test - a more visual approach to UI testing. Simply launch your application, record the interactions and validations of the test case, and replay the test interactively or as part of an automated integration pipeline. An auto-adjusting component recognition mechanism makes it easy to transfer tests across platforms - for example, creating tests for a legacy Windows application and using them as a reference for a new web-based version. The integrated AI capabilities also help handle non-deterministic application behavior, generate test data, and derive test cases from ticket descriptions. It is even possible to use QF-Test as an MCP Server Framework to provide application-based workflows to agentic systems - no programming required.

Session 2: Your Bug Is Not the Problem, but Your Communication Might Be!
Speaker: Francyelle K. de Vicente, Senior QA Engineer at Natixis Bank
Throughout our professional careers, we develop essential technical skills to ensure software quality. However, one of the most underestimated - and at the same time most important - skills is the way we communicate.
In this session, Francyelle explores assertive communication techniques applied to everyday QA work, with a focus on clarity and objectivity. Simple, structured approaches will be presented to help reduce communication noise, avoid misunderstandings, and make the QA role more effective within the product development lifecycle.
