I. OBJECTIVES OF THE CONTEST
The objective of this contest is to benchmark an individual’s skills, knowledge attitude, and potential in problem-solving, mathematical-thinking and coming up with innovative approaches. It is also to acknowledge an exemplary performance which is driven by grit and an attitude to learn and improve. It will test the individuals at following levels:
a) Critical thinking: The contest will make participants think critically about the problems as the solutions may not be straight-forward or obvious. It will make students think about different possibilities and look at the problems from multiple perspectives.
b) Conceptual clarity: The problems will challenge an individual’s conceptual clarity around mathematical areas.
c) Mental abilities: This is a test of how much a student has practiced earlier so that he/she can address simpler problems with speed and efficiency.
II. AWARDS
Medals will be awarded to highest ranked participants. Following general guidelines will be followed.
Gold Medal Top 5 percentile
Silver Medal Between Top 5 to 15 percentile
Bronze Medal Between Top 15 to Top 25 percentile
A Medal and Certificate will be issued.
These are the general guidelines and there will be minimum criteria. At any point the organizers may deviate from the policy.
III. PARTICIPATION
Any student studying from grade 2 to grade 7 can (both appearing) participate.
Following groups are made for participation.
Group G1 Std 2 and Std 3
Group G2 Std 4, and Std 5
Group G2 Std 6 and Std 7
For awarding medals, a student’s grade and difficulty of the question will be considered.
IV. CONTEST PATTERN
a) The contest will be held online.
NOTE: The details of the contest website/platform will be shared 5 days before the contest on the registered e-mail address.
There will be 3 Sections.
Section 1 and 2 will be Multiple Choice
Section 3 will be text answers
V. CONTEST DATE & TIMING

Section A starts at 10:00 AM
Section B starts at 11:00 AM
Section C starts at 12:00 noon.
