The first edition of "Khelo India - Delhi Swimming League" is taking place on 8th and 9th January 2022, at Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Swimming Pool at Talkatora Stadium, New Delhi.
The event is being officiated by Sports Authority of India, Swimming Association of Delhi, and is organised by Edify Sports.
SPM Swimming Pool at Talkatora Stadium is New Delhi's only all-weather/ heated swimming pool fully covered with roof and walls on all sides, so that there is no body temperature change for the swimmers before and after the swimming, in the cold winters.

Categories of the competition:

Who can Participate:
- Swimmers who were born in respective years as mentioned in above table, will be only eligible for those categories.
- For Group 1, Group 2, Group 3, only the following shall be eligible:
- Swimmers registered with Swimming Federation of India (SFI), representing Delhi, and swimmers registered with Delhi Swimming Association (DSA).
- Swimmers not registered with SFI or DSA should have a residence address proof of Delhi - Aadhar Card or Passport. - For Senior Group, anyone who is born in the years 1996 - 2004 can participate from anywhere across India, without any restriction. To participate in Endurance distance categories of 800 m and 1500 m, you can compete in Masters category.
- For Masters Group, anyone who is born before the year 1996 can participate from anywhere across India without any restriction. Mail to nimesh@edifysports.com, for any queries.
What documents will be needed for age proof?
- Aadhar card or Birth Certificate of the swimmer will need to be uploaded during the online registration.
How many categories can one swimmer participate with on ticket?
- Participants in Group 1, Group 2, Group 3 can register for 1 ticket and participate in upto 3 categories, out of 8 categories (2 distances x 4 strokes)
- Participants in Senior Group registering for 1 ticket in 50 or 100 m category, can participate in upto 3 categories, out of 8 categories (2 distances x 4 strokes).
(This does not include 800 m and 1500 m categories as these need to be purchased separately.) - Participants in Masters Group registering for 1 ticket in 800 m or 1500 m category can participate in upto 3 categories. They can choose 2 more events from the 8 categories (2 distances of 50, 100 m. x 4 strokes).
(If they want to choose both Endurance categories (800 m and 1500 m), they will have to register and pay for both separately.) - If any participant is found in more than 3 categories, or in wrong category, she/ he shall be disqualified.
Rules of the sport:
All swimmers shall have to abide by the rules defined by Swimming Federation of India, for various categories.
Exception: In 800 m and 1500 m categories, swimmers are allowed to change the stroke while swimming.
Winners:
- The winners in all categories of competitions shall be decided by Time Trials, irrespective of the number of participants. Wherever there are more than 10 participants in a category, heats would be conducted.
- The winners shall be decided by the Jury of officials from Delhi Swimming Association, and the decision taken shall be binding on all the athletes.
- If there are less than 4 participants in any category, that swimming event shall be scrapped, and no winners shall be announced.
Disqualification:
You will get disqualified, if:
- If you are found breaking the Covid protocols
- If you break rules of the sport
- If you do not maintain the decorum of the place
- If you push or shove any swimmer inside or outside the pool
- If you participate in more than 3 categories, or in wrong category
Covid Protocols:
- You should be wearing mask all the time, other than while swimming.
- If you are above 18 years of age, you need to produce a physical copy of your RTPCR report, or Covid vaccination report. If you have taken only 1 vaccine dose, you need to get your RTPCR done.
- Keep a distance of 6 feet from others, as much as possible.
- If you feel you are not well, do not enter the pool.
Schedule of events:
TBD: The schedule of events shall be announced here soon.
However, for the Endurance category, the 800 m event shall be held on 8 January, and 1500 m shall be held on 9 January, so that one person can attempt both, she/ he wants.
