Sound Alive presents Dhruv Sarker

Dhruv Sarker has been playing drums professionally in the independent music scene for over 15 years. Drawn to the energy and intensity of fast-paced punk rock from a young age, he soon began exploring a wide range of genres and sub-genres, continually challenging himself with rhythmically complex and unconventional music.

For Dhruv, the drums have always been more than an instrument and have been a way of discovering his own musical identity. Rather than being recognised solely for performing other people’s music, he has remained committed to creating original work and collaborating with artists across diverse genres.

For this performance, Dhruv will be playing music of artists who inspired him throughout his musical journey as a drummer.

The set will explore different approaches to drumming that are rarely experienced in the independent music scene, offering audiences a glimpse into the techniques, influences, and musical ideas that have shaped him as a drummer.
