Beerud is a co-founder of Webaroo and is responsible for the overall strategy, execution and growth of Webaroo. Under his stewardship, Webaroo has grown into Indias largest mobile messaging service, reaching nearly 60 million users and has served the marketing needs of over 550 brands and 27K small businesses.

Prior to Webaroo, Beerud founded Elance, the worlds largest online services marketplace. He played various leadership roles at different stages of the companys growth, including product & business strategy, product management, marketing & business development, and remains on the board of directors. 

Beerud earned an M.S. in computer science from Massachusetts Institute of Technology & a B.Tech in Computer Science from IIT Bombay, where he was awarded the Institute Silver Medal.

The Startup Leadership Program (SLP) is a not for profit 6-month fellowship.  We train and mentor startup entrepreneurs to be leaders and entrepreneurs in the life science, tech, cleantech, education, consumer and social enterprise sectors. 

SLP was founded in 2007 as the TiE Leadership Program.  Since then, SLP Fellows have started over 300 companies, raised over $20 million in angel and venture capital funding, and won numerous awards and media attention. Entrepreneurship Development Center (Venture Center) - a CSIR initiative - is a Section 25 company hosted by the National Chemical Laboratory, Pune. Venture Center strives to nucleate and nurture technology and knowledge-based enterprises by leveraging the scientific and engineering competencies of the institutions in the Pune region in India.

The Venture Center is a technology business incubator supported by the Department of Science & Technology National Science & Technology Entrepreneurship Development Board (DST-NSTEDB). Venture Centers focuses on technology enterprises offering products and services exploiting scientific expertise in the areas of materials, chemicals and biological sciences & engineering.
