They are four sisters celebrating the songs of life, the beauty of the hills & storytelling, through the language of Li
Their musical journey began when they were very young. Their mother taught taught their first Li and songs while their Father patiently showed them how to hold the Tati right. Then followed sessions of folk dancing and stories from Li. They loved listening to the tales and translations of the poetic songs they had learned to sing.
Their Mother wove all the traditional skirts and shawls that they always wear proudly, and stringed together the beautiful beads and necklaces they inherited from their Grandma.
At all school functions, dressed up in their miniature versions of the traditional Chakhesang costumes, they got to present bouquets to Chief guests and special guests and eventually, to sing folk songs for most of them as well. Cultural performances in school led to television appearances at the local Doordarshan Station and soon invitations to bigger stages and platforms poured in.
The music grows and continues with them as they grew from being school children to college students, working women to mother and now, performing artistes and cultural ambassadors of Nagaland on the world stage.
They are the Tetseo Sisters.
