Sambara- celebrating Sankranti in a village

This Sankranthi , do something really special by celebrating the biggest and most important festival in Andhra Pradesh, the harvest festival of Makara sankranti from 12th to 14th January with Grassroutes in Madhvamala , a serene village located about 25km from Tirupati, Andhrapradesh renowed for its 3 centuries old tradition of carving on wood.

The festival takes place over a period of three days giving thanks to four great forces of influence and protection: Indra, the giver of rain; Surya, the Sun; gracious cattle and beloved ancestors. This happy occasion is known as Pedha Panduga among the Telugu people. So get ready to indulge in some traditional village activities, local games, delicacies and much more!!
