RUPAIYA Hindi Comedy Play

A French Comedy that has traveled from Paris to Delhi, from 1668 to 2019

Moliere's famous "The Miser" became "RUPAIYA" when it got re-disected by theatre veteran and film maker 'Kanwar Deepak Gulati' 

Story line-

Seth Dhannamal is obsessed with the wealth he has amassed over the years and is always ready to curtail his expenses. Now a widower, he has a son and a daughter. Although he is over sixty, but he is attempting to arrange a marriage between himself and an attractive young woman.

In the meanwhile, the son attempts to procure a loan to help the same girl whom his father wants to marry. Seth Dhannamal hopes to marry his daughter to a wealthy man of his choice but his daughter loves somebody else and her lover takes a job as steward in Seth’s household so as to be close to his love.

The complications are only resolved at the end by the rather conventional discoveries. Sattire and farce blend in this fast-moving plot, as & when Seth ji’s hoard is stolen. The characters give life to this story with never ending punches and drama.
