ABOUT 'RUN THE NIGHT - GLOW RUN'

 

First conceived and executed in the summer of 2015, 'Run The Night - Glow Run' is one of the most popular night running event in Chandigarh. And with over 2000 participants in 2016 edition from across the country and borders, the Mega event has been the most talked about in the city's recent history.

 

The event is spread across two categories: An RFID chip-timed international standard half-marathon (21.1 Km 'Run The Night') and a 5 Km. 'Glow Run'.

 

The event garners a lot of attention because of the fact that the runner enjoys the night landscape of the city beautiful which in itself is a unique experience along with en-route music, dance performances and 'Glow-in-the-dark' accessories. The event is one mega party! 

 

This international standard running event has brought laurels to the city and is whole-heartedly supported by the Chandigarh Administration through the department of toursim (CITCO) and Chandigarh Traffic Police which makes it one of the best and safest running experiences on the cleanest, widest and smoothest roads with ZERO traffic.

 

'Run The Night - Glow Run' is not just a run-of-the-mill event but it stands for social causes by creating awareness. The event not only stands for the safety of women but also believes in empowering them to become stronger, healthier and safer. The 2017 edition is also geared towards a drug-free society. The awareness is achieved through various 'mini-events', public announcements and various digital, print and social media campaigns to bring about a positive change.
