1.) 6 TH DECEMBER 2020: GANGA RUN:
Ganga is a trans-boundary river of Asia which flows through India and Bangladesh. The
2,704 km river originates from the Gangotri Glacier of western Himalayas in the Indian state of Uttarakhand , and flows south and east through the Gangetic Plain of India and Bangladesh, eventually emptying into the Bay of Bengal.
2.) 13 TH DECEMBER 2020: BRAHMAPUTRA RUN:
The Brahmaputra called Yarlung Tsangpo in Tibet, Siang/Dihang River in Arunachal
Pradesh and Luit, Dilao in Assam, is a trans-boundary river which flows through Tibet, India and Bangladesh. It is the ninth largest river in the world by discharge, and the 15th longest.
3.) 20 TH DECEMBER 2020: GODAVARI RUN:
The Godavari is India's second longest river after the Ganga . Its source is
in Triambakeshwar , Maharashtra. It flows east for 1,465 kilometres, draining the states of Maharashtra (48.6%), Telangana (18.8%), Andhra Pradesh (4.5%), Chhattisgarh (10.9%) and Odisha (5.7%). The river ultimately empties into the Bay of Bengal through an extensive network of tributaries.
4.) 27 TH DECEMBER 2020: YAMUNA RUN:
The Yamuna, is the second-largest tributary river of the Ganga and the longest tributary
in India. Originating from the Yamunotri Glacier at a height of 20,955 ft on the southwestern slopes of Banderpooch peaks of the Lower Himalaya in Uttarakhand , it travels a total length of 1,376 kilometres and has a drainage system of 366,223 square kilometres (141,399 sq mi), 40.2% of the entire Ganga Basin . It merges with the Ganga at Triveni Sangam , Prayagraj , which is a site of the Kumbh Mela , a Hindu festival held every 12 years.
5.) 3 RD JANUARY 2021: NARMADA RUN:
The Narmada River, also called the Reva and previously also known as Narbada. It is also
known as "Life Line of Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat" for its huge contribution to the state of Madhya pradesh and Gujarat in many ways.
Narmada rises from Amarkantak Plateau in Anuppur district Madhya Pradesh. It forms the
traditional boundary between North India and South India and flows westwards over a length of 1,312 km before draining through the Gulf of Khambhat into the Arabian Sea, 30 km west of Bharuch city of Gujarat.
6.) 10 TH JANUARY 2021: INDUS RUN:
The Indus River, called Sindhū in Sanskrit with derived names in most Indic languages, is one
of the longest rivers in Asia. It flows through China (western Tibet), India ( Ladakh ) and Pakistan. Originating in the Tibetan Plateau in the vicinity of Lake Manasarovar, the river runs a course through the Ladakh region of India, towards Gilgit-Baltistan and then
flows in a southerly direction along the entire length of Pakistan to merge into the Arabian
Sea near the port city of Karachi in Sindh .
7.) 17 TH JANUARY 2021: KAVERI RUN:
Kaveri also known as Cauvery, is an Indian river flowing through the states
of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. The Kaveri river rises at Talakaveri in the Brahmagiri range in the Western Ghats, Kodagu district of the state of Karnataka, and flows for about 800 km before its outfall into the Bay of Bengal. It is the third largest river – after Godavari and Krishna – in South India and the largest in the State of Tamil Nadu, which, on its course, bisects the state into North and South. The Kaveri is a sacred river to the people of South India and is worshipped as the Goddess Kaveriamma.
8.) 24 TH JANUARY 2021: KRISHNA RUN:
The Krishna River is the fourth-biggest river in terms of water inflows and river basin area
in India, after the Ganga, Godavari and Brahmaputra. The river is almost 1,288 kilometres long. The river is also called Krishnaveni. It is one of the major sources of irrigation for Maharashtra, Karnataka, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. The Krishna river originates in the Western Ghats near Mahabaleshwar , in the state of Maharashtra in Central India.
9.) 31 ST JANUARY 2021: MAHANADI RUN:
The Mahanadi is a major river in East Central India. It drains an area of around 141,600
square kilometres and has a total course of 858 kilometres. Mahanadi is also known for the Hirakud Dam. The river flows through the states of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Odisha.
10.) 7 TH FEBRUARY 2021: TAPI RUN:
The Tapti River or Tapi is a river in central India between the Godavari and Narmada rivers
which flows westwards before draining into the Arabian Sea. Its origin is near Multai Reserve forest in MP. From there it enters Maharashtra and flows through western part of Vidarbha and Khandesh. From Maharashtra it flows into Gujarat, where its mouth is near Surat.
11.) 14 TH FEBRUARY 2021: SUTLEJ RUN:
The Sutlej River is the longest of the five rivers that flow through the historic crossroads
region of Punjab in northern India and Pakistan. The Sutlej River is also known as Satadree. It is the easternmost tributary of the Indus River.
12.) 21 ST FEBRUARY 2021: CHAMBAL RUN:
The Chambal River is a tributary of the Yamuna River in Central India, and thus forms part of
the greater Gangetic drainage system. The river flows north-northeast through Madhya Pradesh, running for a time through Rajasthan, then forming the boundary between Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh before turning southeast to join the Yamuna in Uttar Pradesh state. It is a legendary river and finds mention in ancient scriptures.
13.) 28 TH FEBRUARY 2021: CHENAB RUN:
The Chenab River is a major river that flows in India and Pakistan, and is one of the 5 major
rivers of the Punjab region. It rises in the upper Himalayas in the Lahaul and Spiti district of Himachal Pradesh state, India, and flows through the Jammu region of Jammu and Kashmir into the plains of Punjab, Pakistan, before flowing into the Indus River near the city of Uch Sharif .
14.) 7 TH MARCH 2021: JHELUM RUN:
The Jhelum River is a river in northern India and eastern Pakistan. It is the westernmost of
the five rivers of the Punjab region, and passes through the Kashmir Valley. It is a tributary of the Chenab River and has a total length of about 725 kilometres.
