Riparian heritage tree mapping and river clean-up - 12 April, 2026

The citizen groups of Pune River Revival, Pune PCMC River Revival and Pune Samvad cordially invite you for a unique session on riparian heritage tree mapping and river clean-up.

The term riparian means of or relating to wetlands adjacent to rivers and streams. Whereas tree mapping refers to creating a detailed database of the trees under observation.

Free to join.

No prior experience is needed; love for nature is sufficient

You will get to see the greenest and most serene parts of Pune and also get a chance to know Mother Nature more closely by observing age old trees.

Who can join

1. You can join as an expert if you are good at identifying plants

2. Otherwise, you can join as a volunteer and help the experts to collect the data. We help with on-site training during the mapping sessions where you can easily create the required database in a short period.

3. Students who have opted for elective subjects to work with NGOs and organizations are most welcome to join us.

4..Parents can bring kids above age 10.

Note

1. This is a citizen-led activity. Please follow instructions from cordinators and join at your own responsibility.

2. Please wear full shoes, full pants, cap, mask and gloves.

3. Keep at least one litre drinking water. 

4. Have something before joining the walk to avoid sun stroke and weakness.
