Returning To Yourself (Expressive Arts Therapy Workshop)

Namita Thawanii and Madhuri Talim bring to you a series of Expressive Arts Therapy based workshops on mental health and wellbeing in Pune.

Expressive Arts Therapy being experiential in nature, can be fully understood only by living it, taking first-hand experience, immersing yourself in it, and allowing yourself to be open to the here and now.

About the facilitators,
Madhuri Talim is an Expressive Arts Therapy Practitioner, with an additional certification in Dance/ Movement Therapy and Indian Classical Dance. She believes in providing brave, non-judgemental spaces where participants feel safe enough to express and discover their deepest selves through the arts. As explored in her work, the arts are safe, open, and inviting containers that provide many opportunities to tap into our emotions, thoughts, imagination, and creativity. Her approach is primarily person-centered and psychodynamic, integrated with an intersectional lens.
Her favorite quote: “Creativity is our birthright”.

Namita Thawani is a Multidisciplinary Artist and a Certified Expressive Arts Therapy Practitioner who is passionate about community and creativity. She seeks to provide a brave, non-judgemental space that is welcoming to everyone. Her approach is ethical, person-centred and works with the existential and psychodynamic lens.
In my understanding, the act of creation in itself holds space for existential issues of purpose and control. The world may seem absurd and unfair at times, creativity allows us to remind ourselves of our ability to create, adapt, expand or sit with the understanding of polarities that exist in the world. It feeds our human need to fill gaps, make meaning and feel in control.

Kindly note:
~No prior experience with any art modality is necessary.
~Workshops are open to all aged 18+
~Workshop will be conducted in English, additionally, the facilitators can communicate in Hindi and Marathi.
