Deepika’s journey is one of rediscovery—seeking to reconnect with the lost threads of her heritage while creating music that resonates with the present. A Mumbai-based singer, songwriter, ghazal artist, and creative entrepreneur, her work blends Hindustani classical roots with cinematic soundscapes. She identifies as a romantic at heart and sees music as her chosen language of expression, drawing from genres like jazz, retro Bollywood, indie folk, and dream pop. Though trained in Hindustani vocals since childhood, she found her voice in ghazals — a form that allowed her to weave the emotive depth of Urdu poetry with contemporary songwriting.
In 2023, she released her debut single Kahin Duur, the first glimpse of her sonic identity. Since then, she has launched a merch line and created two original concert series — Mausamon ki Mehfil and The Grapevine Sessions — both designed as intimate, intentional spaces for original music from India. Alongside her own work, she has spent nearly a decade supporting artists as a curator, manager, and now, an artist development coach. 2025–26 marks an exciting chapter in Deepika’s journey as she prepares to release her debut album, Qisse Kal Ke.
About the Album & Show
Even as a child, Deepika felt like an old soul — a traveller displaced in time. As she grew older, she longed to savour the present but often found herself caught between memories of the past and worries of the future. What she craved most — time itself — always seemed to slip away.
Qisse Kal Ke was born out of moments suspended in time — quiet reflections, fleeting joys, heartbreaks, and unexpected healing. It is an intimate archive of stories from the past few years, bound together by the constant push and pull between past, present, and future. Described as evocative of the golden era of retro Bollywood, the album marks a new chapter in Deepika’s journey. The live show reimagines the spirit of a baithak — an intimate, attentive space where the audience sits with the stories and emotions in the songs.
