Pune Camp, Bacchu adda, Crit Race (51st Edition)

This is a prestigious cycling race, 51 years old, held in Pune, Maharashtra, organized every year by Nandanvan Tarun Mandal at Bacchu Adda Chowk, Pune. It occurs annually on April 14th, in commemoration of Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar. This race is highly esteemed within the cycling community. And this year its 51st edition of race. Race is organized under Cycling Association of Pune District guidance.

Limited 50 entries only in each category.

1 Lap = 1.2km distance.

For each cateogry how many loops for race will be declare on race day only.

HISTORY

The race commenced in 1975 and has continued for 51 consecutive years under the auspices of Nandanvan Tarun Mandal.

Numerous state, national and asian champion cyclists from India participate annually. There is a prevailing myth surrounding this race, the winner is destined for national-level success in cycling. This myth has been substantiated by numerous instances.

NATURE OF RACE

Category

1. Men Junior (Road Cycle) below 18 age.

2. Men Elite (Road Cycle) - open age / 18-35

3. Men Master (Road Cycle) - 36+ age

4. Women Elite (Road Cycle) - open age.

5. Men Junior (MTB Cycle) below 18 age.

This is criterium / loop race so overlapping rider will get eliminated.

TECHNICAL DATA OF ROUTE

The route comprises a rectangular shape spanning 1.2km per lap.

It is in heart of pune city with well managed traffic cordination from volunteers.

CONVENIENCE

Riders from outside Pune city will receive free accommodation on the pre-race day in common government hall.

RULES

- Wearing a helmet throughout the ride is mandatory.

- Motor-operated or machine-driven bicycles are prohibited.

- Adherence to all traffic rules is mandatory.

- Aerobars on cycles are not permitted.

- Vehicle support or drafting behind any vehicle is prohibited.

- Riders found violating the rules will be disqualified.
