Pop takeover with Samiha and band Opened by Aashna

"Samiha is a singer-songwriter and guitarist known for raw, soulful original music and an expressive vocal style. Her songs center on honest storytelling and emotional connection. She has performed across Canada and India and is currently working on her debut EP. 

This performance at Depot48 in Delhi will feature Samiha performing with a full band, creating an energetic, feel-good live experience. The show focuses on the core spirit of live music—connection, spontaneity, and a night where the audience and band share the joy of being in the room together. Aashna has been a singer-songwriter since she penned her first song at the young age of 6. Her music explores the beauty and pain in everyday moments, her lyrics encouraging even the most mundane moments to bloom.

Her voice carries nostalgia, warmth, and urgency; reflecting love, loss, and the changing world around her. An award-winning Berklee artist, she draws from influences like Fiona Apple, dodie, and Laufey to create intimate yet cinematic worlds in sound.

Her song 'Getaway' won the gold prize at the National Audio Engineering Society's 2022 Recording Competition. Her song 'Choke,’ which is about almost losing her voice to New Delhi’s hazardous pollution levels, won 3rd place in Berklee’s Songs 4 Social Change contest. She also earned the Berklee Songwriting Achievement Scholarship in 2022.

Performing is her favorite thing in the world, and writing original songs is the most vulnerable thing in the world. Depot 48 quickly struck as a safe haven for her - a queer friendly, musician friendly venue with a terrific audience.
