Deep Yarns: Julie Janson on Writing, Memory & Theatre

Nov 29 | 10:00 AM (IST)

Event Information

Step into a circle of story, memory, and shared wisdom on 29 May, 10 AM–12 Noon, as SNS and the Australian Consulate, Chennai present an intimate session with Australian playwright and author Julie Janson.

Rooted in the First Nations tradition of yarning, this gathering invites participants to sit together, listen deeply, and speak openly. Julie will share insights into memory theatre and writing, read excerpts from her play, and guide a collective conversation on the craft of playwriting, theatre-making, and the politics and practices that shape our artistic worlds.

This session welcomes theatre practitioners, writers, students, arts managers, educators, and anyone curious about storytelling, process, and community-led creative practice.

A slow, reflective morning to learn, unlearn, and make space for one another.
