Be a part of Pen' kondu pen'mai'yai ezhuthuvom (Pen கொண்டு பெண்'மை'யை எழுதுவோம்) a writing Workshop led by Nivedita Louis. This workshop explores what it takes to write the stories of women with extraordinary lives. Participants will create a character sketch of a remarkable woman, past or present, through listening, research, and storytelling. The workshop will be conducted in Tamil on Sunday, 13th April 2025, from 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM at Alliance Française, Madras.

Goethe-Institut, SNS Arts Development Consultancy and Kala Collective, in association with Alliance Francaise Madras, are delighted to present The Female Legacy Project—an exhibition celebrating the legacies of three iconic female artists from Tamil Nadu: Narthaki Nataraj (Bharatanatyam), Seethalakshmi (Shadow Puppetry), and Usha Rani (Tamil Theatre). Their journeys, marked by resilience and artistry, have paved the way for future generations of women in the performing arts. The exhibition will run from Friday, 4th April to Sunday, 13th April 2025 at Alliance Française Madras.

About Nivedita Louis
Nivedita Louis is an author, feminist historian, ethnography enthusiast and co-founder of Her Stories. She writes biographies and subaltern history. She has authored 12 books, translated a book and has been awarded the Laadli National Award for gender sensitization in media.
