INTRODUCTION:
Human creativity and inventiveness has lead to the development of intellectual property all around us affecting our daily lives. Intellectual Property has assumed great importance in the modern era of
industrialization and the words “Intellectual Properly” popularly known as IP is a buzz word throughout the world today. Every product or service that we use in our daily lives is the result of a long chain of big or small innovations, such as changes in designs, or improvements that make a product look or function the way it does today. Awareness of IPR benefits to the companies is mainly on two fronts. Firstly, how they can protect their creations i.e. to protect their own intellectual property rights and secondly, how they can avoid violating intellectual property rights of others. Furthermore, this increased awareness will encourage companies to make better use of IPR system and make it an integral part of their business strategy. Patents are today considered as best Intellectual Property assets by corporates to explore new avenues. Not only having knowledge of Patent Law but acquiring certification as Qualified Patent Agent is must for career prosperity.
OBJECTIVE:
This course is for understanding the patent prosecution at the patent office, acquiring drafting skills for preparation of patent specifications and other documents required for prosecution of patent applications in Patent Office in the context of Indian and International patent applications.
The objectives of the course are as follows:• Understanding the provisions of The Patents Act 1970 and the rules there under
• Patent procedure and prosecution at the Patent Office.
• Provisions relating to International application under The Patents Act 1970 and rules
• Drafting patent specifications and documents for patent prosecution
• Solving previous years papers of Patent Agents examination
Understand the role of patent agent and formalities of registration

• At the end of the course, a rehearsal examination on the basis of Patent Agent Examination would be conducted. The assessment would be given to the participants immediately.
