Optical Illusion weaving.
In this workshop your child will learn how to weave. It's a tricky skill but totally addictive once they have the hang of it. We will also explore how to think about others perspective because sometimes things are not always as they seem.
Materials needed:
• 4 pieces of paper the same size - can be print paper, wrapping paper, newspaper, poster paper, map paper. It will work best if two pieces are one colour with no patterns. The other two can be patterned.
• Scissors
• Pencil
• Ruler
The fee is for all children in your family (see below).
Parents, what would you do with an hour to yourself? Each week on Thursday we will give you the gift of time. One hour for you while they learn a new skill or you can join in for a hour of quality time with your children.
We have come up with a series of activities for children aged from 6 – 11 years old that can be done with stuff you already have at home such as scissors, photocopy paper, pencils and some recycled objects such as cardboard and a spare toilet roll or two.
Younger children can join in but they may need some help from a parent.
As well as flexing creative muscle, each lesson comes with a DOSE of resilience. A simple life lesson such as learning how to react with confidence when they make a mistake or learning to break down problems to solve a creative challenge. Each lesson comes with a Cheat Sheet for you to reinforce the resilience lesson from the class and a weekly creative challenge for the kids.
