Setting up a business is not easy or cheap. One of the biggest challenges entrepreneurs face is finding funds.
Therefore, many startups rely on third party funding- investors.
While identifying the right investors is crucial, entrepreneurs must not rush into onboarding them without legal guidance. They must have skilled lawyers who will deal with matters relating to how much equity/ownership to offer in exchange for funds, due diligence, compliance, necessary documentation and more.
So, as a lawyer, what kind of skills do you need to assist in fundraising? What are the red flags to look out for?
How can you draft better terms for your client- startup or investor?
