However, an alarming trend has been noticed - an increase in false rape allegations by women.

In August, while observing that filing false rape cases needs to be dealt with strictly, the Allahabad High Court imposed a cost of INR 10k on a woman who lodged false FIRs against four men accusing them of rape.
