About:

Rajgad

The name describes the place itself. The king of all the forts.

It is to the south-west 40 Kms from Pune. It boasts the highest number of days stayed by Chhatrapati Shivaji on any fort. He spent almost 25/30 yrs here. Rajgad is famous for its construction.

The fort can be divided into four different parts based on geographical terrain and fortification. These are the three sub-plateaux (Machee) namely Padmavati Machee, Suvela Machee and Sanjevani Machee, and at the centre is the Ballekilla.

Torna

The fort is also known as prachandagad (huge fort), due to its massive size. In 1646, when Shivaji was 16, he launched his first military attack by capturing Torna fort, paving the way for the great empire. Many battles have been fought on this fort.

The fort is truly grand and stretches for couple of kilometers.

Day 1: SATURDAY

12:00 AM - MEET at DADAR PRITAM Hotel

12:00 AM - Our journey starts with the private vehicle from DADAR till GUNJAVNE, the base village of Rajgad.

05:00 AM - Reach Gunjavane Base Village get refreshed with Tea & Breakfast

06:30 AM - Start ascending Rajgad fort

09:30 AM - Reach the Padmavati temple(base camp)

 11:00 AM - Explore Rajgad Balekilla

 01:00 PM - Lunch

 02:30 PM - Explore Suvela Machi

 05:30 PM - Reach padmavati temple have evening tea

 08:30 PM - Dinner

 10:00 PM - Sleep time

Day 2: Sunday

05:00 AM - Wakeup call and freshen up

05:30 AM - Breakfast

06:30 AM - Journey from Sanjivani machi towards Torna Fort

01:30 PM - Reach Torna Fort

02:00 PM - LUNCH

03:00 PM - Rest for a while

04:00 PM - Explore nearby

05:00 PM - Evening Tea refreshments

08:00 PM - Dinner

09:00 PM - Sleep Time

Day 3: Monday

06:00 AM - Wakeup call Have Breakfast and start descending Torna

07:00 AM - Have Breakfast and start descending Torna

10:30 AM - reach base village Velhe and have special Misal Pav

11:00 AM - Start journey back to Mumbai by PVT Vehicle

04:00 PM - Reach DADAR approx.

Good trekking shoes, extra pair of socks

Haversack to put in all the things to be carried, so that one has ones hands free while trekking.
