BUSINESS WRITING FOR RESULTS- ONLINE WORKSHOP

PURPOSE OF THE WORKSHOP

Most of us when we were in school had an English class on how to organise and write letters properly. We were shown how to set a letter up on the page to some standard form.

The basic formats of letters can be relearned quickly, but a more serious problem often hides beneath preoccupation with from: the problem of not knowing why you are writing to someone, once you are working in business. Many of us write letters because we think we are supposed to without a clear outcome in mind.

Business communication has also been evolving continuously. In response to changing attitudes and the advent of modern communication media like fax, e-mails, SMSes, Whats App and other social media, this has meant the exclusion of certain expressions and ushered in a need for quicker response.

This programme aims to arm you with the basic as well as people skills that are required while writing letters - whether it be an enquiry letter, sales/business promotion letter or a reply letter. The result would be an ability to relate clearly to people and understand what, why, when and how the reader wants.
