Walk and explore the wonders of life under water with ocean enthusiast and conservationist Tariq Khan. Join Rajesh Mangela as he and fellow Koli’s welcome us into Mora Gaon, Juhu’s little-known fishing village

-Engage with Koli fishermen and learn about life at sea and generational traditional fishing methods

-Buy the morning's fresh catch, specially arranged for us by Koli fisher women and support local business (optional & cost of fish not included in the ticket)

-Join a guided tour of Mora Gaon and catch a glimpse of Koli culture and history

-Enjoy a small talk on Koli recipes followed by breakfast of poha and poori bhaji at Daryavadi- the Koli community cloud kitchen (Cost of breakfast not included in the ticket)


This is a not-for-profit 1 km guided MARINE & COMMUNITY WALK led by TARIQ KHAN a scuba instructor and expert in environmental conservation and aquatic awareness; and RAJESH MANGELA a community leader working to protect and empower the local fishing village


Date and Timings: Sunday 12th October, 8.15am to 10.30am

Age group: 16 years +


Meeting point: 8.00 am sharp outside Riviera Apartments, Gandhigram Road, Juhu. Please walk or use public transport

Route: The 1 km walk will begin on the beach at Gandhigram Road and continue towards Ruia Park. We will engage with the Koli fishermen and embark on a guided tour of Mora Goan, led by them. Please note that the exit to the walk will be at P A Mhatre Sports Ground, Juhu (near PVR Cinema)


What to bring

- Comfortable walking shoes & clothing

- A water bottle

- Sun protection (hat/ sunglasses/ sunscreen)

- Respectful and open spirit


Included in the ticket: 8.15 am to 10.30 am- a 2 hour guided walk

Optional and NOT included in the ticket: Purchase of fish on the beach & breakfast at Daryavadi- the Koli community cloud kitchen


This walk is inspired by the UN SDG’s (Sustainable Development Goals) towards 2030. The walk is conceived and sponsored by Shruti Agrawal- an award winning designer and Juhu resident currently compiling a photo documentary titled ‘MY JUHU’
