Dr. Mukherjee will talk about funding schemes of the Wellcome Trust- which is the largest charity in UK. The focus will be on funding schemes for innovators and entrepreneurs.

Dr. Mukherjee will also provide tips & pointers on how to write good & effective grant proposals for various funding programs. He will dip into his extensive experience reviewing & evaluating proposals to point out key dos & dont. 

Dr. Shirshendu Mukherjee has worked with reputed Pharmaceuticals and diagnostic companies in India like Ranbaxy, JK Drugs and Pharmaceuticals and Becton Dicknson. His main area of research is development of diagnostics, bioprocesses for biopharmaceuticals and vaccines. He was also involved for the establishment of the R&D labs and the pilot plants for production of biopharmaceuticals. Later he moved to join, International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB) New Delhi a premier international research organization in field of human health and agriculture related plant biotechnology as Staff Scientist (IPR and Technology Transfer) at the Delhi centre, where he was involved for transferring the technologies developed by the centre to member countries. Dr.Mukherjee hold a Ph.D. degree in Microbiology, a law degree (LL.B) and a PG Diploma in IPR and International Trade Laws.
