Monsoon Trek to Mighty Kalsubai Peak

Kalsubai is a mountain in the Western Ghats, located in the Indian state of Maharashtra. Its summit situated at an elevation of 1646 meters (5400 feet) is the highest point in Maharashtra which earns it the much-glorified title of the 'Everest of Maharashtra. The mountain range lies within the Kalsubai Harishchandragad Wildlife Sanctuary. It is visited throughout the year by avid trekkers, Kalsubai temple devotees and wildlife enthusiasts alike. According to the villagers living at the base of the mountain, a woman name Kalsu Bai was punished by villagers and forced to leave the village, and that the woman climbed the mountain and started living on it, and later died there, giving the mountain its name.

ITINERARY:

12:00 AM We meet at Dadar (Chitra cinema) with huge excitement within us. We meet new people (our fellow trekkers) and begin our journey towards Base Village Baari.

05:00 AM After a long journey we reach Baari to get a view of the Gigantic Mountain Kalsubai standing just in front of us. Rest till dawn.

06:00 AM Its time to energize ourselves with mouthwatering breakfast, which would refuel us enough to reach the summit.

06:30 AM After short instructions, we began this thrilling trek to the Everest of Maharashtra.

10:00 AM Congratulations! Rejoice as you have captured the highest peak of Maharashtra. Enjoy the breathtaking view of the mighty sahyadris. Get blessings from the Kalsubai Temple, Rest for a while you discover yourself.

11:00 AM With some unforgettable pictures of those beautiful landscapes fixed into the walls of our hearts and mind, we begin to descend.

01:00 PM We reach the base village. It was a tiring experience and we know you would be hungry. Delicious typical Maharashtrian food prepared on Chulhas is waiting for you. Get your tummies filled.

02:30 PM Get refreshed, and start moving towards Mumbai enjoying lush green surroundings, watching the awe making landscapes.

07:00 PM We reach Mumbai to conclude our trek with new friends made, unforgettable memories, smiles on our faces and loads of memories to cherish for life.

Note: The timings are tentative and may vary due to unforeseen events.

Rules:

- Camp leader’s decision will be final and binding.

- The Hikers Club reserves all the right to change/deviate/cancel the plans without prior notice.

- Please do not carry or wear any valuables, ornaments, jewelry, etc. If carried, then we Do Not take any liability for the same.

- The outing has a strict NO Smoking/Drug/Alcohol Policy.

- All the timings mentioned above are tentative.

Cancellation and Refund applicable on the whole tour cost :

• If cancellation is done prior to 10 days of outing 75% will be refunded.

• If done prior to 5 days of outing 50% will be refunded

• After that, no refund will be provided.
