Monsoon Trek to Mighty Harishchandragad

About Harishchandragad:

Harishchandragad is a hill fort in the Ahmednagar district of India. It is known for its scenic beauty and charm. The fort is quite ancient. Remnants of Microlithic man have also been discovered here. Its origin is said to have been in the 6th century, during the rule of Kalachuri dynasty.

Difficulty – Easy

Itinerary:

Day 1:

20:50 hrs – Board the Kasara Local starting from CSMT at 8.50 pm from your respective stations

Train Schedule:

• 20:50 hrs CST

• 21:05 hrs Dadar

• 21:12 hrs Kurla

• 21:16 hrs Ghatkopar

• 21:32 hrs Thane

• 21:44 hrs Dombivali

• 21:54 hrs Kalyan

• 23:05 hrs Kasara

23:10 hrs – Meet the team at Kasara station ticket counter, we will leave for the base village in our private vehicle

Day 2:

02:00 hrs – Reach base village, and rest at pachnai, at villagers house untill the dawn for the exciting trek coming up soon.

06:00 hrs – Wake up call, freshen up and Start the trek through the darkness towards harishchandragad.

08:30 hrs – After an easy trek for about 1.5-2hrs we reach Harishchandreshwar temple, Visit kedareshwar temple, Have refreshing tea and delicious Breakfast and start moving to visit taramati Peak (Highest Point on Harishchandragad)

11:00 hrs – Sitting on the edge of the cliff, Admire the might of the Kokankada

02:00 hrs – Reach Back to Base Village, have traditional Maharashtian veg food, preparing for our way back.

03:00 hrs – Start our Journey back towards kasara in a private vehicle.

05:00 hrs – Reach the station and say goodbye to our fellow Hikers! We leave with new friends made, new bonds created and memories to cherish for life.

• Extra pair of clothes

• A photo ID card. (must)

• Some ready to eat food (plum cakes, biscuits)

• Drinking water

• Rucksack to carry all things. ( No handbags/jholas

• Sports Shoes/Trekking Shoes (Compulsory)

• Camera (Optional)

Rules:

- Camp leader’s decision will be final and binding.

- The Hikers Club reserves all the right to change/deviate/cancel the plans without prior notice.

- Please do not carry or wear any valuables, ornaments, jewelry, etc. If carried, then we Do Not take any liability for the same.

- The outing has a strict NO Smoking/Drug/Alcohol Policy.

- All the timings mentioned above are tentative.

Cancellation and Refund applicable on the whole tour cost :

• If cancellation is done prior to 10 days of outing 75% will be refunded.

• If done prior to 5 days of outing 50% will be refunded

• After that, no refund will be provided.
