Bombay Management Association (BMA) is India’s leading Management Association, established in 1954. BMA pioneered Management movement in India. BMA has traversed over six decades impressively.
BMA is an Independent not -profit entity, which focuses on providing a wide range of services aimed at enhancing managerial effectiveness in a broad sphere of activities with an aim to improve the standards of Managing Business in India. This is achieved primarily through organizing training programs / lectures, arranging discussions, meetings where experiences are shared. Also well thought off research projects, study groups are run and purpose focused workshops and conferences are organized. BMA organizes Industrial visits also which draw good participation.
BMA has received “Best LMA Award for six times for the years 1989, 1990, 1991, 1992, 2000 and 2012. BMA Membership is coveted by those seriously interested in various management activities. BMA offers Management Development Programs and customised “in company training programs” to meet specific needs of organizations such as improving of performance. Over the years BMA has trained 1,21,000 managers from India and Abroad.
The First President of BMA was Mr. N Dandeker who also had the distinction of being the First Indian to become President of Bombay Chamber of Commerce & Industry and the Founder President of AIMA (All India Management Association). Mr. Dandeker was also a member of Parliament, associated with the erstwhile Swatantra Party and in his honour “The Dandeker Trophy” was instituted in 1991.
The formation of the All India Management Association was an important event during the year 1957. BMA had taken an active part in the setting up of this voluntary federation of the existing Management Associations/Institutes in India to co-ordinate their activities and to represent the integrated views of the Management movement in the country at a national level both at home and abroad.
BMA has been constantly changing its strategy based on the market trends. Accordingly it has started partnering with similar Organizations such as NHRDN, Bombay Chamber of Commerce & Industry to organize Joint Programs. Further BMA is also entering into E-learning arena.
