As a long-time reader, writer and chief editor of The Bombay Literary Magazine, I have mulled over a great many narratives. One thing that's become clear is that many writers have great things to say, but aren't quite able to transfer them onto the page. I believe the solution is simple: find a way for the writer to be honest in their writing. However, simple does not mean easy, and focusing on honesty, rather than "good" or "great" writing, is harder than one might think. Clear, specific and frank feedback can help a lot and I aim to provide it.
Unfortunately, I don't have the bandwidth for in-person or zoom-based feedback (I despise zoom). And I believe in short, effective interventions. Email is a convenient medium for thoughtful, considered exchanges. We are *writers* after all.
