Kaas Plateau also known as the "Kaas Pathar" is situated in the Western Ghats Sahyadri range, 22 km from Satara city in the state of Maharashtra, India.The name Kaas originates from Kaasa tree. As the leaves of this tree mature, they turn from green to red.When it comes to UNESCO world heritage Sites, Maharashtra's very own valley of flowers at Kaas has its own unique micro climate due to which during the last phase of monsoon, it becomes home for thousands of flower varieties, some of which are endemic only to the plateau. Woven by the master weaver and artisan, mother nature, the endless carpets of flowers and lots of butterflies all around the Kaas Plateau will sweep you off your feet. The name Kaas originates from Kaasa tree, botanical name Elaeocarpus glandulosus. It is home to about 1500 species of plants including 450 species of wild flowers out of which 33 are endangered.

Best time to visit :Timing is crucial if you wish to see Kaas in all its natural splendour. The best time to visit is September although the flowering starts from mid-August and lasts until September. During the flowering season from mid August to October a riot of colours will treat the eyes. By first week of October almost 80 percent of flowers are gone, Better visit next year.

Reach the Base Village by 6:00AM.

Have your breakfast along with the necessary instruction about the tour.

Reach Kaas Pathar and Explore the mesmerizing bed of flowers.

Move towards Kaas Lake.

Have lunch and start proceeding back to Mumbai.

Reach Mumbai Late Evening depending on traffic Conditions.

The participants who wish to reach the event starting point in their own vehicle have to reach the meeting point at given time, beyond the said time and spot the organiser may go out of network range and wont be able to assist. In such situation the organiser shall not be liable for any inconvenience what-so-ever and the participants will be considered as dropouts against which no refund will be made. The organiser reserves the right to make necessary change in itinerary at any time before or during the event based on situation at hand. Trek leaders decision will be final and binding, no arguments will be entertained. During the event if any participant or group does not follow safety instructions and indulges in acts that lead to physical harm, or gets lost in the forest / mountain the organisers will not be held liable for it. Tickets can be cancelled 7 days prior to the event and 90% amount will be refunded. No refund will be made in case a person misses the train/bus mentioned in the itinerary. All participants are deemed to be physically fit for the event. In case a participant decides to dropout during the event he/she has to bear the extra cost of arranging his/her return. This cost will be charged at-actual-basis. If the event gets cancelled before commencement due to natural calamities, rains, landslide, snowfall, avalanche only 50% refund will be made. Once the event has started and if it get cancelled due to bad natural conditions during the course of event no refund will be made. Stay options mentioned in the itinerary are subject to natural conditions i.e tents cant be pitched if rains and/or rain storm is being predicted. In such cases an attempt will be made to provide shelter for the night. Food during the trekking and camping events is sourced locally from villages and we put in our best efforts to provide the best, participants should acknowledge the fact that remote village people are not trained for catering services and our expectations should be accommodating. Natural phenomenon based events have a risk of occurrence, the phenomenon like waterfall, snow fall, rain , flower booming, cloud pattern formation, sunset/sunrise visibility etc may or may not happen as expected. Trekking and Camping belong to adventure sports industry where the participants are part of a "team" here there are no waiters, caterers, guests, clients. Having the spirit of sportsmanship and teamwork is basic requirement for signing up for a trek.
