Our intention at On That Note has always been to provide a platform for musicians to give them the opportunities they deserve. We also believe that music
is universal and that it complements all other live art forms really well. This is why we are very excited to present what we have lined up next, a music and comedy night!
On That Note is going to experiment every month with
different art forms and music and "The Jokers and the Musicians" is our take on bringing the best of comedy and music together. We shall have comedians and musicians get together to compete with another group. As the audience, we promise that you will not only have a lot of fun, but will be completely engaged throughout the entire process. CounterCulture Comedy Club, Chennai is the very first comedy club, located in the heart of Alwarpet.
C'mon guys, we started it all.

Guru Narayan
Guru is a South Indian middle-class half boil; neither
here nor there is his permanent state of mind. He is terrified of his parents, Hindi, wife and Annabelle (in that order). He was born and brought up in Chennai where his dreams were locked up in a Godrej Bero and keys were hidden. He tried to see if his unfulfilled dreams finally come true in Bombay, but he was just chased back to Chennai!!
Bimal Thankachan
Bimal grew up listening to BoneyM, colonial cousins,
Backstreet Boys and a variety of Malayalam movie songs, while simultaneously going for Carnatic music classes. Music became instrumental in his life with the introduction of the guitar and synthesizer and slowly started to become everything he wanted. With years battling the vocational war and finding some semblance of stability as a video producer, his music is stronger than ever. He writes music with emphasis on depression, solitude and hope, and on occasion designing orchestral scores for short films and other videos.
Anirudh Kishore
From being that Tamil Brahmin kid who went to
Carnatic classes to sing ‘Maha Ganapathim’ during Navarathri season to someone who idolizes the music of The Beatles, Anirudh is a make-do musician. With his interests ranging from the classic rock from the 80s to the legendary Walmart yodelling kid, he is thankful for his engineering degree for giving him the time and space to pursue them all. Borderline survives on the drive to explore different forms of producing music.
Aaquib Jaleel
Aaquib Jaleel is a comic. He enjoys sunsets, long walks and jokes about the great depression. He has an hour titled "stupid" which has received much praise such as - "This was stupid" - some random dude who watched the show. "Stupid show.
