Jasleen Aulakh Takes the Stage on #WeekendLive with Zoom TV & Oaksmith® Gold Glasses

#WeekendLive is a collaborative effort between the leading entertainment channel Zoom TV, and new to India’s very happening music and performances scene, Oaksmith® Gold Glasses (@OaksmithGoldIndia on Facebook & Instagram). As many live shows cancel, platforms like #WeekendLive are pioneering efforts to build a work-from-home culture for the artists, and giving roots to an emerging format for live music with #StayHome – House Concerts.

#WeekendLive leverages “Live” feature of popular social media platforms like Instagram and Facebook, as some of India’s top talents perform from the safety of their homes, straight to that of their audiences.

This week’s artist - the very versatile Jasleen Aulakh, believes music is a language that knows no bounds - a thought, that lends mysticism and almost-divinity to her performances. She has her own unique style of fusing genres - from slow rock to contemporary Sufi to country & folk, as she performs with her band at various international stages across the world. Her music straddles many languages - Hindi, Punjabi, English and French - and genres which are an influence from her early formative days in Pondicherry, where she met and heard musicians from around the world.

Going by the response to last editions, #WeekendLive has been a hit, with over 5mn viewers watching the riveting performances - by Indian Ocean, India's most celebrated and iconic rock band, Deveshi Sahgal, the very talented sufi singer, and the iconic Rajasthani folk musician and internationally renowned, Kutle Khan Project.
