While there’s no end to fighting false information and biased news coverage, PR and corporate communication professionals must now also reckon with the imagined grievances of those taking offence when evidently none was intended. Much of this is, of course, pure social mischief that’s meant to create needless temporary buzz. Still, reputed and established brands don’t seem to be immune to such underhand tactics and show a surprising lack of belief in their own ideas that are good and can assuage frayed nerves in these testing times.

Thus, it seems that communication experts are facing overwhelming changes. To meet these very challenges, ICS 2021 will explore the avenues that communication and PR professionals have at hand to manage brand and people reputation as well as create positive and convincing narratives that help bridge differences and weed out falsehoods.
