We have curated a novel 350 km+ cycling route for you on the world's highest motorable road at Umling La (pass) at 19,300 feet height in Ladakh region in the Himalayas. Explore the pristine land of Buddhism like never before.

• Day 1: Arrival into Leh. Acclimatize. Overnight at hotel / homestay. 
• Day 2: Do acclimatization practice ride. Do your ride shopping in local market. Overnight at hotel / homestay. 
  
• Day 3: Another practice ride. Preparation and Briefing about the trip. Overnight at hotel / homestay. 
  
  RIDING STARTS
• Day 4: Flag-off of Ride. Leh to Hymia - 82 km.   Overnight in homestay. 
  
• Day 5: Hymia to Chumathang - 60 km.    Overnight in homestay. 
  (Enjoy natural hot water springs) 
• Day 6: Chumathang to Nyoma - 42 km.    Overnight in homestay. 
• Day 7: Nyoma to Hanle - 76 km. Overnight in homestay.
  (Visit world's 3rd highest Astronomical Observatory at 14,800 ft atop Mt. Saraswati in Hanle, explore India's first 'Dark Sky Reserve' and Hanle monastery)
• Day 8: Hanle to Chisumale (Via Norbula) - 51 km. Overnight in homestay. 
• Day 9: Chisumale to Umling La top & back to Chisumale - 46 km ride 
  Move by Vehicle to Hanle. Overnight in Hanle homestay
• Day 10: Hanle to Leh BY CAR. Overnight in Leh hotel.

• Onward travel, if you drop the ride in between, or if your unexpected behaviour forces organisers to leave you midway.

•     Rs. 1500 for a coverage of Rs. 5.42 lakhs

Note:

• Your bicycle should be only MTB cycles, with gears (No road bikes, hybrid bikes, city bikes, touring bikes); should have hydraulic brakes & a front suspension.
• The list of things to be carried by cyclists shall be shared upon registration. 
• Please check if your Life Insurance policy includes the clause of death by Adventure Sports. If not, you need to buy the Adventure Sports Policy separately from any of the providers. We can suggest the policy. 
• The Indemnity form shall be mailed to you separately. Please sign it and send back the soft copy on mail within 2 days. And submit the hard copy before the expedition begins. Non-submission of hard copy shall lead to disqualification of the rider from the expedition and the paid amount shall be forfeited.

In case of cancellation of the event:

- If your participation is cancelled by you, the amount paid shall be forfeited.

- If the event is cancelled by the organisers, the entire amount paid shall be refunded, and any kits distributed shall be taken back.

- If the event is cancelled because of force majeure or Covid restrictions, 15% of the amount paid shall be deducted and the rest shall be refunded.

About Umling La: 

• BRO builds world’s highest motorable road in Ladakh at 19,300 feet
  Border Roads Organization (BRO) has constructed the world’s highest motorable road in the Ladakh UT, passing through Umling La Top at a height of over 19,300 feet. The feat was achieved under “Project Himank" of the BRO. Being close to Hanle, the 86-km-long strategic road through Umling La Top connects Chisumle and Demchok villages, located 230km from Leh.. Q. Why is the price so low?

A. It's a Fully Supported ride, but the price is heavily discounted, because it is a semi-sponsored ride.

Q. Who is Eligible?

We shall only select cyclists experienced in riding at high altitude and for long distances. New riders, or cyclists without experience of riding at high altitudes shall not be considered for this expedition.
