FPA India Mohali Branch proudly presents the inaugural edition of Walkathon 2026, a community-driven initiative dedicated to raising awareness about cervical cancer and emphasizing the importance of early detection and preventive healthcare.
This walkathon is envisioned as more than just a fitness activity it is a meaningful step towards fostering awareness around one of the most significant yet preventable health concerns affecting women today. Through this initiative, we aim to encourage informed conversations, promote responsible health practices, and inspire individuals to take proactive steps towards their well-being.
Set against the scenic backdrop of Sukhna Lake, Chandigarh, the event will bring together students, professionals, families, and fitness enthusiasts in a collective show of solidarity for a vital social cause. The atmosphere will be both energetic and purposeful, reflecting a strong sense of community engagement and social responsibility.
The event will feature a 4-kilometre untimed walk, designed to be inclusive and accessible for participants of all age groups and fitness levels. A maximum duration of 1.5 hours will be provided to comfortably complete the walkathon.
To enhance the overall experience, the event will feature on-ground participation from reputed healthcare institutions, offering awareness support and basic health check-ups for attendees. Informational resources and guided interactions will be available to help participants better understand the importance of preventive care, particularly in the context of cervical cancer.
In addition to the walk, participants can engage in a range of interactive and recreational activities designed to make the experience enjoyable and inclusive. On successful completion, all registered participants will receive certificates and medals as a token of appreciation, for their contribution towards this cause.
