Theatre – there is nothing quite like it. The magic of the stage is such that it can bring a much loved tale alive and give it an altogether new perspective. The Leon’s World Centre for Holistic Learning and Development recognizes the important role that theatre plays in the development of creativity in children. Theatre engages them, all their senses, as no other medium of entertainment would.
Bringing yet another beloved tale to the stage, Leon’s World, in association with the Progressive Theater Group aka PGT, presents the story of "Little Red Riding Hood". The PGT have used their artistic freedom to bring a modern twist to the tale. Staged as a musical comedy with a hint of romance, the story holds true to the traditional tale of Red Riding Hood going through the forest, carrying a basket of goodies for her sick grandmother. For sure there is the Wolf, just waiting to sink his jaws into Red. But there is more as Red Riding Hood is in love with a boy who works for her strict father. As she wanders through the forest she is lost in her thoughts about this boy and forgets her parents instructions to 'Stay on the path and do not talk to strangers '.
The Wolf has a back story too, he has been thrown out of the house by his own family for eating his cousin and is starving since many days. He sneaks into Red Riding Hood’s grandmother's house and so when she reaches the house, there is a nasty surprise in store for her. What happens to Red when she goes into her grandmother's house? Does she get together with the boy she loves? Watch the play and find out.
The Progressive Theater Group is a non- profit group established in 2014 by its proprietor, Rashmi Sharma. The purpose of PTG productions is to spread social awareness and message with values along with educating children and adults through live performances.
