Event Information

BDG LifeSciences (OPC) Pvt. Ltd. India is a Bioinformatics company with expertise in conducting Workshops, Training, Novel Research Projects & Online Courses in technologies of Bioinformatics and is in business since 2010. Being proficient in Drug Discovery & Designing, MD Simulations, NGS Data Analysis, and Gene & Genome Editing by CRISPR/Cas9 to date, we have successfully trained hundreds of participants who were not only students but scientists, faculties, professors, company executives, etc across the world.

As we believe in a different way of learning which is HANDS-ON PRACTICAL SESSIONS our workshops are unique because participants perform on their own computer/laptop on software/servers, so it is 100 % practical application of technology which is the main reason for BEING A LEADER in the sector for the last 10 years.

Our experience and success can be weighed in terms of 500+ workshops around the world, 60+ International publications of our research projects, and thousands of trained participants.  To view the pictures of our previous events click here-1 and click here-2. To view, the listing of upcoming events kindly click here and our previous workshops can be viewed here. To view the video feedback of our previous events kindly visit our YouTube Channel
We have launched our next 5-day technical online training program on Drug Discovery Technology in which we will teach about the process of Drug Discovery & Design along with the interaction of inhibitors with biological targets. This 5 day, hands-on training course will focus on the use of efficient technologies used in Structure-based drug design, and the focus will be on how the structural data can be used in molecular modeling to design lead molecules based on the structural features of the active site that can lead to the design of new molecules which can be drugs and have good target potency.

Video recording of each session will be provided at the end of the session to give the user a unique learning experience. On successful completion of the course participation certificate will be awarded.

RESOURCE PERSON
Salma Jamal, Ph.D. is a DHR-Young Scientist and her research has circled around mining enormous diverse biological data and identify & prioritize previously unknown relationships and new strategies that would enable solving various disease-associated problems.

She is an expert in using various bioinformatics and cheminformatics methods to identify molecules with biological activities from diverse chemical libraries. She used the Crowdsourcing approach to perform data analysis and Crowd Computing for Cheminformatics (2C4C), to develop predictive models for almost all the significant confirmatory screens available on PubChem.

During her Ph.D., she carried computational work including molecular dynamics simulations, generated machine learning-based models for activity prediction, prediction of adverse drug reactions, identification of disease-associated mutations, and prediction of disease-associated genes. She has also used long-range molecular dynamics (MD) simulations to explore the effects of urea and TMAO in regulating the conformational properties focusing on the structural aspect of α-synuclein peptide, which is intrinsically disordered in its monomeric form.
Further, she has also performed Long-range replica exchange molecular dynamics guided drug repurposing against tyrosine kinase PtkA of Mycobacterium tuberculosis (M.tb). Her recent work is focused on developing an updated database comprising almost all reported substitutions within the M.tb drug target genes rpoB, inhA, katG, pncA, gyrA, and gyrB. This was followed by evaluating the impact of these mutations on the binding affinity of the drugs to target proteins. She is also a part of the team which has developed a comprehensive online resource named MycoTRAP-DB that connects mutations in genes with their structural, functional, and pathogenic implications on protein.

She joined as a Technical Associate at BDG Lifesciences and now conducts training, workshop, and research projects on topics of her expertise.
