A passionate advocate for cultural preservation and pluralism, he is a founding trustee of SAHMAT and works closely with groups like ANHAD. Hashmi is also the author of a book on Sanchi and has been recognized with awards like the INTACH Heritage Award. His work blends storytelling, activism, and education to keep Delhi's diverse heritage alive.
