Dhruv Visvanath Takes the Stage on #WeekendLive with Zoom TV & Oaksmith® Gold Glasses

#WeekendLive is a collaborative effort between the leading entertainment channel Zoom TV, and new to India’s very happening music and performances scene, Oaksmith® Gold Glasses (@OaksmithGoldIndia on Facebook & Instagram). As many live shows cancel, platforms like #WeekendLive are pioneering efforts to build a work-from-home culture for the artists, and giving roots to an emerging format for live music with #StayHome – House Concerts.

#WeekendLive leverages the “Live” feature of popular social media platforms like Instagram and Facebook, as some of India’s top talents perform from the safety of their homes, straight to that of their audiences.

This week’s artist, Dhruv Visvanath has a unique style of playing the guitar and with his refined taste in music, he was recently named as one of the 30 Great Guitarists Under 30 in the world by Acoustic Guitar Magazine USA, alongside artists like Ed Sheeran and Newton Faulkner. His musical influence can be attributed to having spent a large part of his childhood in various parts of the world like London, Zambia, Hong Kong, and Mumbai to name a few and these collective experiences from his past assists him to craft his songs and stories.

Dhruv has time and again showcased his versatility and profoundness as an artist through his work in independent and mainstream films and has worked with critically acclaimed artists like A.R Rahman and Vishal Bharadwaj. His latest album, The Lost Cause is an Independent effort which is a beautiful blend of traditional folk music, rhythmic pop and tribal-based work. Along with his fandom in the country, he has also been able to leave a mark on the global music and film festivals. In 2018, he was India’s only entrant to South By SouthWestan, an annual conglomeration of parallel film, interactive media, and music festivals and conferences organized jointly that take place in mid-March in Austin, Texas, United States and the Canadian Music Week in Toronto, an industry conference and music festival held over ten days in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. 

This weekend be prepared to get swept off by Dhruv’s mesmerising and coming of age music, his melodic guitar tunes and his speechless musical ballets.

Going by the response to last few editions, #WeekendLive has been a hit, with over 15 million viewers watching the riveting performances - by Indian Ocean, India's most celebrated and iconic rock band, Deveshi Sahgal, the very talented sufi singer, the iconic Rajasthani folk musician and internationally renowned, Kutle Khan Project, the very versatile singer songwriter Jasleen Aulakh , the leading Indie-Rock Band Faridkot and Legendary rock band Parikrama and Eminent Sufiyana Vocalist Dhruv Sangari.
