Dahanu-Bordi Beach Marathon 2025

The Dahanu Bordi Beach Marathon 2025 is a charitable sports and environmental initiative organized by the Outplay Sports Foundation under the Guardians of Nature movement, with active cooperation from the Palghar District Administration.

After completing twelve successful fort clean-up drives across Maharashtra, the Guardians of Nature campaign now expands its mission from the mountains to the beach. The Dahanu Bordi Beach Marathon extends this effort from heritage fort preservation to coastal protection, celebrating the shared responsibility to preserve nature, history, and community well-being.

This event promotes fitness, environmental awareness, and social unity. It concludes with the Dahanu Bordi Beach Clean-Up Drive 2025, supported by the Guardian Minister of Palghar, the Forest Department, and the Palghar District Administration. The clean-up drive is also a Guinness World Record attempt for the Largest Coastal Plastic Clean-Up (Single Day, Single Venue).

More than five thousand runners and five thousand Guardian volunteers will participate, joining hands to clean over eighteen kilometers of the Dahanu-Bordi shoreline and recycle nearly three tons of plastic waste. Each registered volunteer will receive a potted sapling from the Forest Department as a symbol of their personal commitment to environmental care.

The NCC and NSS volunteers play a leading role in the event. Guided by the Sports Department of Maharashtra, over six thousand cadets and students will coordinate crowd management, hydration points, waste segregation zones, and on-ground awareness campaigns throughout the day. Their contribution is central to ensuring discipline, teamwork, and impact at every level of the event.

The Police Department, Coast Guard, and Forest Department will work in coordination with Outplay Sports Foundation to manage public safety, marine security, and ecological supervision during the marathon and cleanup. Their presence ensures a smooth, secure, and environmentally compliant operation across the coastline.

To facilitate student and volunteer participation, MSRTC buses are being arranged from every tehsil of Palghar District under the support of the Transport (Parivahan) Department. The complete bus schedule and pickup timings will be announced one week prior to the event.

The Dahanu Bordi Beach Marathon features three categories: the 5 KM Wave Run for beginners and families, the 10 KM Mangrove Run for fitness enthusiasts, and the 21 KM Blue Planet Half Marathon for experienced runners who wish to run for a cause.

Runners receive an official T-shirt, breakfast, hydration and medical assistance, and a digital participation certificate. Finisher medals are awarded only to runners completing their distance. Race bibs with timing chips are issued for the 10 KM and 21 KM categories.

Volunteers receive breakfast, hydration, an appreciation certificate, and a sapling with pot from the Forest Department. Event T-shirts for volunteers are optional and available during registration.

The Dahanu Bordi Beach Marathon 2025 is managed and executed by Outplay Sports Foundation with administrative cooperation from the Palghar District Administration and departmental support from the Forest Department and Transport Department. The event ensures safety, comfort, and meaningful participation through route management, medical teams, hydration and sanitation facilities, and trained volunteers.

Through this “Mountain to Beach” edition, Outplay Sports Foundation strengthens its mission to combine sports with sustainability and to connect people through action. The event serves as a living example of how collective effort can protect nature while inspiring the next generation to lead with purpose.
