Bhigwan:

Bhigwan is a small town around 100 kms away from Pune and is also referred to as the “Bharatpur of Maharashtra”, as it becomes a hotbed of migratory birds during the winter. Bhigwan is at one end of the huge Yashwant Sagar reservoir, forming the backwaters of the Ujjani dam. One of the main attractions during the migratory season is the arrival of the Greater Flamingos. this place is thronged by bird lovers from all over Maharashtra. A large number of migratory water birds are seen in this area.

Situated at around 70 kms from Pune, Mayureshwar Wildlife Sanctuary is located in Tehsil Baramati in Pune district.

The sanctuary is mostly made up of dry deciduous and scrub forest and has a variety of flora and fauna specific to grasslands.

Mayureshwar Wildlife Sanctuary (smallest in India), is popular for a healthy population of Indian Gazelle (Chinkara) it supports and also a variety of bird species found in grassland. Species like Indian Eagle Owl, Bonelli’s & Short-toed Snake Eagles can be seen throughout the year and in winters one can often sight the Harriers and the mighty Steppe Eagles.

08:00 PM- Start journey from Pune after all pickups.

10:30 PM- Reach Bhigwan base village.

10:45 PM- Setup tents and Snacks with Masala milk (enjoy lakeside view and campfire with funny games, music, group games and lot more fun...)

06:30 AM- Enjoy breakfast with amazing view & Climate.

07:00 AM- Reach boating point.

07:00 AM- Enjoy boat ride and birding (duration -1.5 to 2 hours).

10:00 AM- Continue bird watching along the banks of Ujjani Backwaters.

11:00 AM- Lunch Lip Snatching delicious Veg/Non-Veg (Bhigwan famous fish) followed by a short rest.

01:00 PM- Leave Bhigwan and proceed to Mayureshwar Wildlife Sanctuary.

01:30 PM- Explore Mayureshwar Wildlife Sanctuary.

05:00 PM- Leave for Pune. We will stop for a short tea break enroute.

08:30 PM- Reach Pune.

09:00 PM- Mumbai participants will board Mumbai train.
