Experience Char Dham Yatra like never before! 2020 Chardham Yatra tour through Religious and historical cities of North Indian Himalayas. Chardham Yatra tour starts from Haridwar, Barkot, Jankichatti, Yamunotri, Uttarkashi, Gangnani, Harsil, Gangotri, Gaumukh the source of Ganga river, Rudraprayag, Guptkashi, Gaurikund, Kedarnath ji, Ukhimath, Joshimath, Badrinath Ji, Karanprayag, Nandaprayag, Rishikesh and Back to Haridwar.      

The great Hindu philosopher and reformer Adi Shankaracharya initiated the Char Dham yatra in an attempt to revive the Hindu religion during the 8th century. The word 'Char Dham' refers to the four abodes of God, namely Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri at the Himalayan region of Garhwal (Uttarakhand). All these locations are believed to be highly sacred by the Hindu religion. While Kedarnath is home to lord Shiva and Badrinath is home to Lord Vishnu. Yamunotri represents the goddess of Shakti Yamuna, and Gangotri represents the goddess of Shakti Ganga. And Gomukh the Source of holy Ganga. 

DAY 01: DRIVE FROM DELHI - HARIDWAR (210 KM BY TAXI / 7 HR)
Morning around 9 AM drive will pick you by car/bus from Delhi and 7 hrs drive to Haridwar, ancient city and important Hindu pilgrimage site in North India's Uttarakhand state, where the River Ganges exits the Himalayan foothills. We reach Haridwar, check-in at a hotel, after little rest, we will visit with a local tour guide in Haridwar sightseeing tour and attend sunset Ganges Aarti on the bank of Ganga River with thousand of mother Ganga devotees. Haridwar or 'the Gateway to the Gods' is one of the seven holiest places according to Hindu mythology, as the Gods are believed to have left their footprints in Haridwar. Haridwar represents the gateway to the Himalaya pilgrimage shrines of Badrinath and Kedarnath. The pilgrimage to the Himalaya shrines begins only when the sun reaches the zodiac sign of Aries. Haridwar is also the site of celebration of the Kumbh Mela, once in twelve years, when Jupiter transits to the zodiac sign of Aquarius. The five sacred bathing spots in Haridwar are Ganga dwara, Kankhal, Nila Parvata, Bilwa Theertha, and Kusavarta. The main ghat at Haridwar is known as Hari-ki-Pairi (known for a footprint of Vishnu on a stone in a wall. Overnight stay at The Hotel in Haridwar

DAY 02: HARIDWAR - JANKICHATTI (238 KM BY TAXI / 10 HR)
After Breakfast drive to Jankichatti for the journey to first of your Dham, Yamunotri, daughter of the Sun god Surya and consciousness Sangya. The Yamuna, like the Ganges, has been elevated to the status of a divine mother for the Hindus and has been held responsible for nurturing and developing the Indian civilization. Have lunch in-route at midway Lakhamandal. Another journey breaks before Barkot to continue our final overnight destination Jankichatti, Dinner & Overnight at Jankichatti.
Jankichatti - Situated at an elevation of 2,650m above sea level, Jankichatti is primarily the last motorable road head for pilgrims heading to Yamunotri. Jankichatti is surrounded by mountains on all sides and lies in close proximity to the Indo-China border. Previously the starting point of the trek to reach Yamunotri was Hanumanchatti. Since there is a large devotee rush, it is advised to do night stay at Jankichatti to be among the first batch of pilgrims on this trekking route. Kharsali, the winter abode of Devi Yamuna and Sani Temple is on easy access from here. Besides Pilgrimage, there are numerous trekking options such as Darwa Top & Dodi Tal from Hanumanchatti, 7 km from here. / Ponies and palanquins are available at Jankichatti. DAY 03: JANKICHATTI – YAMUNOTRI – JANKICHATTI (5 KM TREK / 2-3HR )
Early morning Wakeup call and leave with packed breakfast for the trek to the Yamunotri temple, you're first of Himalayan Chardham. Return in time for Lunch at Jankichatti. Evening visit sightseeing tours of Jankichatti followed by Dinner. Overnight stay at Jankichatti.

Day's Engagement -
Yamunotri, First of The Chardham: The chief attraction at Yamunotri is the temple devoted to the Goddess Yamuna. The temple of Yamuna, on the left bank of the Yamuna, was constructed by Maharaja Pratap Shah of Tehri Garhwal. The deity is made of black marble. Yamunotri was the home of an ancient sage Asit Muni. Yamuna is the daughter of the Sun just like Yama who is considered his son. It is believed that Yama would not torment any person at the time of death who bathes in Yamuna, his sister. It is Yamuna, who being a holder of infinite love and compassion can grant us freedom from even death, in the realm of her elder brother. Overnight stay at The guest house in Jankichatti (Meals: Breakfast at the Guest house)

DAY 04: JANKICHATTI – UTTARKASHI (150 KM BY TAXI / 6 HR)
Post leisurely wakeup call and breakfast, leave for Uttarkashi, literally meaning Banaras/ Kashi of the north. En route Journey breaks at Brahamkhal and Dharasu band. Later reach Uttarkashi in time for Lunch. Early Dinner & Overnight stay at Uttarkashi.

Uttarkashi - Uttarkashi is a small and beautiful town, situated between two rivers: Varuna and Ashi, whose water flow into the Bhagirathi from either side of the town. Elevated, at a height of 1588 meters, this little town is very similar to Kashi and Varanasi, in that it has the same kind of temples and ghats and likewise, a north or 'Uttar' facing river. The major temple in Uttarkashi is The Vishwanath Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva. Two other very important temples are located in the Chowk area are the Annapurna Temple and the Bhairav Temple. Once it is said, there were 365 temples here. Hiuen Tsang referred to this place as Brahma Pura, while the Skanda Puran has recorded it as Varunavata. It is believed that in the second millennium of Kaliyug Kashi will be submerged, and Uttarkashi will replace it as an important religious center.

DAY 05: UTTARKASHI - GANGOTRI 3048 MTS (100 KM DRIVE BY TAXI / 4HR)
The morning after breakfast drive to reach Gangotri via Harsil (approx 25 km before Gangotri (3048mt) by covering approx 100 km in 4-5 hrs. On arrival check-into Hotel. Overnight stay at the guest house.

There is a beautiful Valley called Bhairon Ghati over which there is a steel guarder bridge. Gangotri is the place where the Goddess Ganga descended on Earth from Heaven. There is a Temple of Goddess Ganga where thousands of devotees throng to pay homage to her.

Gangotri: The shrine of Gangotri is situated at an elevation of 3200 m surrounded by deodars and pines. The original temple was constructed by the Gorkha General Amar Singh Thapa. Every year people from all around the world visit this shrine. A number of ashrams and Dharamshalas are located on the other side of the river. It is believed that Raja Bhagirath used to worship Shiva on a slab of rock "Bhagirath Shila" situated near the temple. Submerged in the river there is a natural Shivling where, according to mythology, Lord Shiva sat when he received the Goddess Ganga in his matted locks. A days trek takes one to Gomukh, the source of the mighty Ganges. Overnight stay at The guest house in Uttarkashi (Meals: Breakfast at the guest house)

DAY 06: GANGOTRI (3048 MTS) - BHOJWASA (3792 MTS) 14 KMS TREK
trek/5-6 hrs) Morning after breakfast we command our trek further to Bhojwasa via Chirbasa (3600mt). From Gangotri, we move along the beaten track towards Chirbasa, which is on the tree line. The entire trek today is along the roaring Bhagirathi River. Beyond Chirbasa the terrain becomes really desolate and barren. In fact, it has been referred to as Artic Tundra by many trekkers. From Chirbasa we trek further to Bhojwasa, the entire trail passes through dense forest, Arrive Bhojwasa; there are a small temple and a potential campsite near down the river. Arrive check in at camp and afternoon free to explore the area and to enjoy excellent sunset on the Bhagirathi group of peaks. Overnight stay at The camp in Bhojbasa (Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and dinner at the camp) 

DAY 07: BHOJWASA - GOMUKH (3890 MTS/12760 FT) – BHOJWASA
An amazing day with the view of the greater Himalaya Later, have your breakfast and begin your trek to Gomukh (3890 meters). Gomukh glacier is the origination of River Bhagirathi/ Ganga. This originating point is one of the most revered points for the Hindu devotees. Marvel at the picturesque beauty of the snow-clad and flower-covered mountain peaks. It is called Gomukh, as it appears like a cows mouth. Once you reach the glacier, you can take a holy dip in the chilling ice water. Enjoy the serenity spread around. You also spot herds of Bharal or the Blue Mountain Goats while you source of the Ganges. After dip walk back to the camp at Bhojbasa, have lunch and Overnight stay in Bhojbasa (Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and dinner at the camp)

DAY 08: BHOJWASA - GANGOTRI – UTTARKASHI (TREK 4 HR + 100 KM DRIVE)
After breakfast trek down to Gangotri with pack lunch arrive and drive to Uttarkashi. Arrive, check-in Guesthouse & overnight stay.  

Uttarkashi meaning Kashi of the north, is a town in Uttarakhand, India. It is the district headquarters of Uttarkashi district. Uttarkashi is situated on the banks of river Bhagirathi at an altitude of 1352 m above sea level. Uttarkashi is home to a number of ashrams and temples and also to the Nehru Institute of Mountaineering. The name of the town reflects its similarity to and location (as north of) the city of Kashi (Varanasi). Similar to Varanasi, the town of Uttarkashi is situated on the Ganges, lies next to a hill named Varun Parvat, on the confluence of two rivers Varuna and Asi, has a ghat called Manikarnika Ghat and has a temple dedicated to Shiva (Kashi Vishwanath Temple) in the center of the town. DAY 09: UTTARKASHI – GUPTKASHI (212 KM / 10 HR BY TAXI)
After a very early breakfast leave for the longest journey of the trip on the road. Late Lunch en route. On the way see the heritage city of Tehri going down into the mighty waters of Holy River Ganges, because of the construction of Tehri Dam. After lunch restart your journey and today for the first time see the river beautiful MANDAKINI. Travel along this to reach Guptkashi late in the evening. Dinner and Overnight at guest house/hotel.

DAY 10: GUPTKASHI - PHATA- KEDARNATH – RUDRAPRYAG (DRIVE + FLIGHT)
Morning drive to Phata take a helicopter flight to Kedarnath ji, do priority darshan here, and fly back to Phata and drive to Rudraprayag. Overnight stay at Rudraprayag.

Kedarnath Temple, IIIrd of Chardham: Kedarnath, the remotest and the most magnificent of the Chardham, is located in Lord Shiva's own country. The sheer majesty of the shrine's natural setting - the towering mountains mantled in snow, the tumbling streams and rivers, and green meadows and forests -- and the arduous trek that gets you to it, serve to further cement the deep-rooted faith that this temple inspires in the devout. This is one sacred site that has remained almost unchanged for centuries and has spiritual energy all its own. For the devotee of Lord Shiva, this is the last frontier, the ultimate path to salvation. DAY 11: RUDRAPRAYAG - BADRINATH (165KM BY TAXI / 7HR)
After breakfast drive to Badrinath via Joshimath. Up arrive Check in Hotel. Later in the evening visit Badrinath Temple for Aarti. Dinner & overnight stay will be a hotel at Badrinath.

Day's Engagement-
Badrinath - Badrinath and its route are, for the newcomer, a journey of initiation. For those who are visiting the shrine, the landmarks and vistas forever provide a newer view, a different emotion, a further nuance to experience in memory. The journey to Badrinath can sometimes be unforgiving, but only to a closed mind. The people visiting the shrine are but the faces of the country. A journey from Rishikesh to Badrinath, to borrow from one of Sir Edmund Hillary's expeditions, is in many ways, a journey from the ocean to the sky, as much mental as physical and another route to heaven - and spiritual liberation. DAY 12: BADRINATH – JOSHIMATH (44 KM BY TAXI / 3 HR)
Early morning, pilgrims after having a bath in the Taptkund have the Darshan of Badrivishal. Brahamakamal is significant for Pinddan Shraddh of ancestors (Pitrus). There are other interesting sightseeing spots like Mana, Vyas Gufa, Maatamoorti, Charanpaduka, Bhimkund and the "Mukh" of the Saraswati River. Just within the three km of Badrinathjee. Later 44 km drive back to Joshimath. Overnight stay at a guesthouse in Joshimath (Meals: Breakfast at the guest house)

DAY 13: JOSHIMATH – RISHIKESH (244 KM BY TAXI / 9 HRS)
After breakfast drive, Rishikesh, arrive check in hotel, Dinner & Overnight at Hotel in Rishikesh. (Meals: - Breakfast and Dinner at the hotel)

DAY 14: EXPLORE RISHIKESH
The day begins with an early morning yoga session then breakfast at the hotel, after exploring Rishikesh "Yoga Capital of the World",. Legend has it that God revealed himself to Raibhaya Rishi as Hrishikesh, after long penance.

DAY 15: EXPLORE RISHIKESH (Overnight stay at Hotel in Rishikesh. (Meals: - Breakfast at hotel)

DAY 16: RISHIKESH – DELHI (230 KM – 7 HR BY TAXI)
After breakfast drive to Delhi, arrive and we will give you transfer to the airport/hotel/railway station tour n service ends
