Capture the Flag (CTF) Cybersecurity Event - August 2024

Capture The Flag events are competitive, educational exercises that provide participants with real-world scenarios to test and enhance their skills in cybersecurity. Our proposed CTF event will focus on three key areas: Web Application Security, Linux System Security, and Android Platform Security. These areas are not only fundamental to understanding modern cybersecurity challenges but are also highly relevant to students pursuing careers in technology and security.

Objective: Provide participants a practical, hands-on cybersecurity learning experience that delivers real-time insights and skills applicable to the current security landscape.​

Challenge Overview:​

1. Web Application Security: Involves challenges that simulate common vulnerabilities in web applications, focusing on vulnerability assessment and penetration testing.​

2. Android Security: Designed for mobile security enthusiasts, these challenges involve identifying and exploiting security flaws in Android applications.​

3. Linux Box Penetration Testing: Participants employ strategies to gain access to a virtual Linux environment, focusing on system security and penetration testing.​

4. Miscellaneous Challenges: These challenges cater to those interested in cybersecurity, offering exercises in Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) and network traffic analysis through Packet Capture (PCAP) files. They require a combination of investigative skills and technical analysis, focusing on extracting information from public sources and examining network interactions to identify potential security issues.​
