Sophia Shree B. K. Somani Memorial Polytechnic, Mumbai is proudly celebrating its 50th year of commitment to women’s education for both personal and societal transformation. In order to make this celebration a memorable event, the department of Dress Designing & Garment Manufacturing, is privileged to collaborate with The School of Fashion Technology (SOFT), Pune, to conduct a Pre-conference with the theme “Leading Sustainability through Collaboration and Co Creation”.

Both the institutions are committed to provide women’s education in the field of fashion and follow sustainability to its core. SOFT has initiated a forum known as “Green Fashion India” (GFI) to bring together conscious individuals from the fashion network who strive to bring a “Green revolution” in fashion.

In keeping with this movement, the Department of Dress Designing & Garment Manufacturing of Sophia Shree B. K. Somani Memorial Polytechnic, has organised a two-day event, which comprises the Pre-conference on 26th September 2019, and the link for the registration is http://ddgmsophia.com/news/institute-registration-form-for-the-conference-september-2019 and our annual fashion show “Tvashtar 2019-20” on 27th September 2019.

For “Tvashtar 2019-20”, our students have connected with the weavers and artisans in their villages and developed beautiful collections which awaken a sense of pride in our traditional handlooms. It encapsulates the entire learning of our graduating students and provides them a platform to showcase their talent to the fashion industry. Needless to say, it is done totally on a professional level.
