Korigad (also called Koraigad or Kumwarigad) is a fort located about 20 km away from Lonavla in Pune district, Maharashtra, India. Its date of construction is not known but likely predates 1500. This fort was incorporated into his kingdom by Shivaji along with the forts of Lohagad, Visapur, Tung and Tikona in 1657. On March 11, 1818, Col. Prother tried to take over this fort but even after a prolonged siege could not make any headway. Finally on 14 March, by igniting the stored ammunition by means of a loose cannon ball he succeeded and this fort went to the British.

Tung Fort was built before 1600 CE. It was built by the Adil Shahi dynasty but was captured by Shivaji. It is small, not being able to hold more than 200 troops at a time. As such, it would not have been able to defend itself on its own for a long time. Its shape and structure suggests that its main function was as a watchtower guarding the road to Pune city. Dhamale family one of the Deshmukh from maval region was charged with ensuring the security of fort tung. During invasion, it served to provide a temporary distraction for invaders.

0615 hrs : Departure for Korigad fort by private bus

0930 hrs : Reach base village & start trekking

1100 hrs : Reach the fort and sightseeing

1230 hrs : Descend down & have lunch

1400 hrs : Reach base of Tung Fort & start trekking

1500 hrs : Reach the fort and sightseeing

1600 hrs : Descend down

1700 hrs : Journey Back to Pune

2100 hrs : Reach Pune

3. Photo Identity proof is mandatory and must be carried by all.

4. Dress Code: Loose fitting outfits (Track suits, shorts & T-shirts, etc) – Denims should to be strictly avoided as they are not comfortable for trekking and adventure events.

5. Footwear: Sport shoes. FANCY FOOT WEAR, CHAPPALS, SANDALS, HEELS & OTHERS are strictly prohibited.

6. Things to carry: 3 bottles* of water, (plate, spoon & bowl)**. Apex Adventures would not take the responsibility of providing these basic necessities under any circumstances. Other things to be carried along would depend on place / season & would be specified in the mailers.

7. Persons with any medical condition which might affect them while participating in the activities are strictly NOT allowed. It is the sole responsibility of the participant to ensure he/she is medically fit to participate.

8. Apex Adventures which is a common interest group started by a group of associates is not an official body and is not part of any organization and shall not be responsible for the safety of the individuals participating in its events and adventure activities as well as for the security of their belongings. The same shall rest completely on the participating individuals themselves.

9. Apex Adventures will not be responsible for any additional expenses that may arise due to trip delays and unforeseen circumstances. These would have to be borne by the participating individuals.

10. Refund Policy: 100% refund if cancellation done 48 hrs prior to beginning of the trek / activity. Nil*** if done any time (even a minute) later.

* Do not litter. Anyone found doing so will attract a penalty.

*** The arrangements are done 48 hrs in advance and we commit a specific number of participants to the various vendors (bus, caterer, adventure experts). We need to pay the exact amount even if someone drops off at the last minute.
